Rush Holt's "Stunning" APP Interview

On the heels of his vote last week to continue Federal funding of the politically corrupt ACORN machine, and in his continuing effort to shed all pretense of being a political moderate, Rush Holt gave an interview this week to the Asbury Park Press which I can only characterize as stunning.

The full article can be viewed here

In the article, Holt says, among other things:

- that he is in favor of one government health system, which he refers to as “Medicare for all”

- that those who disagree with him are selfish and have “an I've got mine, you get yours attitude” that is “really offensive”

- he believes that half of the people showing up at town hall meetings are just upset that President Obama won the election

- that despite his own party's pledge to pull hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicare to pay for this new entitlement and creating an entity which by its very nature will put private insurers out of business, that neither Medicare nor private insurance will be changed in any fundamental way.

There is no other way to say it: these words smack of elitism and condescension, and could only come from someone who is out of touch not only with his constituents and his district, but is out of touch with reality.

He simply cannot grasp the fact that the American people, and his constituents, are frightened by the amount of government spending that has taken place in just the last 9 months, and by the prospect of government bureaucracies taking over an even greater part of our lives.

What should be offensive to Mr. Holt is the attitude of the Government, which is “You've got yours, now give it to us.”

I am going to spend the next 13 months doing everything I can to defeat Rush Holt- but I need your help. Please forward this email to those who feel as you do, that enough is enough, and ask them to go to my website- www.mikehalfacre.com- to make a donation toward my campaign to bring common sense back to Washington.

Your donation is especially important right now, as we are nearing the end of the third quarter, at which time we will again report our campaign contributions to the Federal Election Commission. We got off to a great start last quarter, but I need your help to keep the momentum going!
